BE MORE

Empowering Black, Brown, & LGBTQ+ youth by encouraging self-advocacy and radical self-care.

ABOUT BE MORE

The Be More Foundation is a nonprofit organization that empowers the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, & people of color) & LGBTQ+ communities by removing barriers to resources and opportunities that encourage overall wellbeing. We choose to focus on this group because they statistically experience the worst outcomes in almost every socio-economic way. Research shows that LBGTQ+ folk are more likely to experience violence, discrimination in housing, as well as in the workplace, compared to both their non-LGBTQ peers and their white LGBTQ peers.  We believe that by serving the most vulnerable in under-resourced communities, we can have a profound positive impact in our community, especially in the areas where race, gender, and sexual identity intersect.
